In May of 2015, when his beautiful chocolate lab, named Bella, was diagnosed with terminal cancer her owner decided to make the most of the “remaining” time she had on this planet and treat her into the most epic road trip adventure.
Bella’s vet had given her three to six months to live after her cancer had then spread to her lungs. What had started as a diagnosed of osteosarcoma, aka bone cancer, which resulted in one of her leg’s needing to be amputated, had now spread into her respiratory system.
Despite of her terminal condition, her owner, Nebraska-based Robert Kugler, who adopted her as a puppy nine years ago, wasn’t ready to let her go so he decided to take her loyal friend to one last legendary journey.
Now, 14 months later, the three-legged canine explorer and Kugler are are still going strong at it! From Chicago to Savannah, the dynamic duo is still traveling the country and having a blast!
The good news is that “Bella is doing pretty darn awesome.” Robert Kugler said.
