Anxiety can be crippling at times, and at one point or another we all experience its grasp. While it can be hard to understand why we have this reaction to many circumstances, it is easier to rein in control of the situation if we understand our triggers.
A trigger is the term for the cause of a particular reaction, and many things can be triggers. While we all share a few specific triggers, other triggers can be based on a variety of things, including your astrology sign. Each sign comes with an individual personality, and of course, that means individual points of anxiety. Keep reading to see what your sign means for your anxiety triggers.
(March 21st to April 19th)
Sometimes it seems to you as though the world would stop spinning if you took a break. It feels as though you have to keep going for everyone and everything around you, even when you aren’t feeling it. This, in turn, leaves you feeling completely burned out from everything you do, and stressed out from everything you feel you need to do. Take a breather, and relax. In order to be the best you that you can be, sometimes you need to sit back and give yourself some rest.
(April 20th to May 21st)
The fear of messing everything up is constantly hanging over your head. Whether it is being late to an important event, or upsetting those that you love, the fear is constant. At any given moment you fear you will forget the simplest of things, and in turn, everything you have achieved will burn to ash. This is not true, and with your intensity, all you have to do is trust that you will handle what you need to handle and everything will work out.
(May 22nd to June 21st)
Oftentimes, you make a mountain out of a molehill, so to speak. The smallest of things dig deep into your soul, and the stress and worry that follow keep you constantly on edge. Mindfulness techniques, along with calming and grounding exercises could aid in obtaining relief from this constant struggle. Just remember to think: Is it the end of the world because I spilled a few drops of coffee on my new shirt? Of course, it isn’t. Breathe, and move on.
(June 22nd to July 22nd)
When you feel that your safety is being compromised your anxiety skyrockets. Walking to your car in a dark parking lot late at night brings shivers down your spine, and causes your entire body to shake. People staring at you, or the thought of being judged by others also pokes at something deep inside of you. Rather than holding your emotions in, calmly let them out before they bottle up. Reassurance is exactly what you need to release some of your inner tension, and you will benefit from it.
(July 23rd to August 22nd)
Loss of control is your biggest enemy in the war against anxiety. Unless you feel as though you are constantly the one pulling the strings, you are on edge. Although it may seem easier to maintain control, sometimes giving in to the plans of others is actually exactly what you need for a breather and to relax. Just let go, and let someone else take the reins from time to time.
(August 23rd to September 22nd)
The quickest path to an anxiety attack is overthinking for you. You think way too much anyways, and because of this, you are your own worst enemy for anxiety. By overthinking every decision, you create more anxiety and panic inside of yourself, however, once you begin working on your plan you are fine. Reassure yourself that you are okay. Write down your worries, and think positive.
(September 23rd to October 22nd)
Balance and fairness are what hold your world together. Feeling that anything could possibly be unfair completely tears you apart. By overthinking the pros and cons of every situation instead of just acting, you create most of your own anxiety. Breathe and respond to each moment, rather than sitting for hours going through each possible situation.
(October 23rd to November 22nd)
You have boundaries and need space. Whenever you sense that your boundaries are being disrespected it makes you anxious. Lay down the line. Tell those closest to you what your needs are concerning your own space, and demand respect. Needing space and having boundaries is normal.
(November 23rd to December 21st)
Conformity is your biggest fear. The thought of being told how to dress, act, or behave can make you extremely restless and panic struck. Deadlines frustrate and stress you out to no end.
(December 22nd to January 20th)
Being a perfectionist causes you to be the core to your own anxiety. Your expectations for yourself are often way out of realistic range, and when you are unable to meet them, you become frustrated and anxious. Rather than focusing on the “what ifs” decide to live for the now.
(January 21st to February 18th)
If things do not go how you expect them it causes you to get anxiety. You are constantly attempting to clarify and understand a situation, and time stresses you to no end. By trying to do too much at once in order to meet time constraints rather than slowing down and achieving one task at a time, you often end up preventing yourself from getting things done. Things will not always go your way, but that isn’t always a bad thing.
(February 19th to March 20th)
Being exposed can make you feel vulnerable and that leads to anxiety. When a situation puts you in the spotlight, such as public speaking, you begin to panic. Places and events that put you in the middle of what feels like too many people also trigger your stress response. While it may feel like your personal space is being invaded, you will make it through the situation, and if you breathe and relax rather than go into panic mode, your body will thank you for that.
