10 Signs You’re Doing Much Better Than You Think You Are

It is really easy to get caught up in your own head and believe you are behind where you are supposed to be for your age or that one little mistake is the end of everything. Life can be a roller-coaster of an adventure with highs and lows that rock an emotional being.

In today’s society, it is easy to play the “why me?” game, you know, when bills are overdue, friends aren’t coming around as often as you would like, work is hard, and your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife don’t appreciate you the way that they should. But, people are always so quick to think about all the bad things in life and never think about all the good thing. Have you ever stopped for a minute to think, maybe life isn’t that bad, maybe it isn’t as bad as I think it is?

Stressing out over things that are beyond your control will not make your problems go away; it will make them seem a lot worse. The more I think about it, the more that I realize I have a lot to be thankful for that I have been taking for granted. Maybe you have stressful negative thoughts that you can’t get out of your head? I feel for you and I know what you are feeling, but you are really doing much better than you think. If you don’t believe me, I will prove it to you!

  1. You’re Unsure About Everything

If you are constantly wondering and questioning everything, that is a sign of intelligence. Have you ever noticed how it is always the idiots that are so sure about everything they are doing in their lives?

  1. You are Not Worried about Where Your Next Meal is coming from

There is food in the fridge and can goods in the pantry. While this may not seem like much compared to other things, you may be surprised how many of those around you are missing meals, just to put a little gas in their tanks to get to work the next morning or better yet, to take a hot shower.

  1. You have close friends

People worry too much about the quantity of gal pals they have. A little life will eventually teach you that your squad count has no bearing on how much you feel acceptance, community, or joy. At the end of the day, all we really want are a few close people that get us.

  1. You are able to hear and see the beauties this world has to offer

If you are able to hear, see and enjoy the beauties of this world, then you are an extremely lucky lady. Be thankful for this privilege, for the fact that you are able to do this. Be happy that you can taste the sweetness of chocolate and enjoy the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. Happiness lies in the small things, never forget that. There is so much more to see!

  1. You fell for the wrong person and got your heart broken into a million pieces

Someone can be madly in love with you and still not be ready. They can love you in a way you have never been loved and still not give you what you need. That is okay! There is someone more extraordinary out there for you that you would never know if you did not get to end the last one.

  1. Your Ego has been hurt

In the words of Jillian Michaels, “A bad day for your ego is a great day for your soul.”

  1. You have made mistakes

Mistakes are inevitable in any life worth living; as long as you learn from them that is. They are very important and teach you exactly what you want and who you want to be.

  1. You are not the same person you were

So many people do not get to say that they changed, they get stuck in their stubborn ways and never progress; life is about evolving. You get to decide who you are and who you are going to be, and that is a wonderful thing worth being thankful for.

  1. You are choosing to be happy in your own way

When you stop chasing everyone else’s definition of happiness, you begin to see that the decision to be happy has been available all along.

  1. You still believe in the possibilities that lie ahead

Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what could be. Remember, life does not have to be even near perfect to be wonderful.
