“I went to doctors, I exercised, I meditated, I did yoga, I did deep breathing exercises, I took supplements, I went to chiropractors, naturopaths, spiritual healers, I cleaned up my diet, I went on long runs, I prayed, I volunteered, I did a fast for nine days where I had nothing but water, I did psychedelic drugs – everything you can think of. I even took a six week course online specifically designed for men struggling with anxiety. And at the end of all of this experimentation, nothing worked. Things would work for a day or two, but then I would go right back into feeling miserable.” – Charlie Hoehn
I just finished reading Charlie Hoehn‘s book and I must say, no other insight worked for my anxiety. Sure, other techniques like meditation and exercise may have made me feel better temporarily, but without this one key foundational thing to implement in my life… my anxiety, depression and feeling of emptiness kept lurking back and sometimes even stronger due to the discouragement you feel when anything you try doesn’t produce lasting results. If you’re suffering from anxiety and depression, I urge you to watch his talk and check out his book.
