How many times have you eaten a greasy fast food meal and felt great afterwards? The answer to this question is never, not a single time; sure you get the momentary feeling of fullness but directly afterwards you probably feel bloated, tired, and unhealthy. The food that is being pushed down our throats on a daily basis( fast and highly processed food) does absolutely nothing for our bodies, it holds no vital nutrients, it doesn’t give us a healthy glow, strong hair, or a nice figure; the one thing it does give us is regret.
Our diets are the key to how we look and feel, what you put in is what you are; so why not put in good healthy nutrient dense food that will make and look and feel on top of the game? How many times do we have to hear, ‘you are what you eat,’ for it to finally sink in? The skin is the largest organ in the body, our skin can actually benefit from the same exact nutrition we get from foods that have a positive effect on our heart and other major organs. New research suggests that eating foods rich in protein and certain minerals and vitamins might provide valuable anti-aging effects.
“While there’s no mistaking how our diet affects our overall health, we’re just beginning to understand how certain foods – or lack thereof – can impact our skin’s health,” said Dr. Taylor. “In addition, studies show that some food and beverages can even worsen common skin conditions and cause allergic reactions that manifest on the skin.” This is from Susan C Taylor, MD, FAAD assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York.
Good food equals good skin, good hair, good nails, and good overall body function.
